Married priest leads new flock |

Wearing a white priestly robe and a purple stole draped over his shoulders, the Rev. Liam Sullivan held up the thin communion wafer between his fingers and snapped it in two.
Speaking with a lilting Irish accent, he repeated the words of Jesus: "This is my body, which is given up for you."
The ceremony, the flat wafer and the priest himself would be familiar to many Catholics. But he's no ordinary priest.
Once a pastor at some of the largest Catholic churches in Alabama, Sullivan now has his own congregation called St. Mary Magdalene Christian Community, which recently bought a building in Fultondale, on Carson Road, less than a mile off U.S. 31.
