The Peace Corps
The Peace Corps traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then-Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. From that inspiration grew an agency of the federal government devoted to world peace and friendship.
Seeds of Peace
Founded in 1993, Seeds of Peace is dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence. Over the last decade, Seeds of Peace has intensified its impact, dramatically increasing the number of participants, represented nations and programs.
CWWPP - Coalition for Work With Pshycotrauma and Peace
The CWWPP is trying to find integral and sustainable solutions to the problems of the rehabilitation of post-conflict communities and the prevention of future conflict. Because of the areas of expertise which they have developed, they concentrate on the aspects of health, including mental health and psychotraumatization, as well as physical health, non-violent conflict resolution and community development, including but not limited to democratization, which they define as communication (interpersonal, group and with other bodies such as government), skills and knowledge of organization, critical thinking and self-initiative and skills and knowledge of governance. CWWPP attempt to work with other organizations with other expertise (such as human rights, reconstruction and infrastructure) to integrate the various parts of the solution.
