Spirituality is defined differently by different people, but in a broad sense it could be described as a persons faith or belief system. Whether that be based on an orthodox religion or perhaps a more personal, self defined, less dogmatic, more open to new ideas and different influences type faith. At the basis of almost all people who consciously follow a spiritual path is Love and Truth. It is staggering that with Truth and Love being the basis of most of the worlds populations belief system or faith, that there are wars and hatred between the different faiths. The Temple of Understanding
A pioneering member of the interfaith movement since 1960, the Temple of Understanding (TOU) is dedicated to creating environments in which people of different faith and religious traditions can learn from and about each other. The TOU is a global interfaith organization with NGO consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and has had representation at all of the major international conferences. The TOU began its work with interfaith education by convening summits of religious leaders around the world. Now, posed to address the challenges of the 21st century, the Temple of Understanding focuses its work on interfaith education and peace.
